Why "Among the Quadi?"

First, I just like the way these three words look/sound together. But the words aren't exactly random. In Book I of his Meditations, Marcus Aurelius signs off "Among the Quadi, at the River Gran" (or something like this, depending on the translation). Marcus Aurelius is one of my favorite philosophers, and, apparently, composed the first part of his Meditations in the part of the world I find most interesting (Central Europe, where the Quadi lived). And, so, "among the Quadi" seems as good as anything else to call this blog.

Why do I have a blog and what will I do with it? TBD.
